The Gibson County Chapter of the American Red Cross was chartered in 1917 by a group of dedicated volunteers that felt the community needed help with health and emergency services. Having seen the determination Clara Barton had put behind the American Red Cross, those volunteers worked to open the first chapter in Gibson County.
92 Years later, the Gibson County Chapter is still helping provide health and emergency services from our newly renovated home inside the Princeton Municipal Bulding. Thanks to a grant from Toyota Motor Manufacturing and the determination of previous executive director, Billy Loveless, our new home became reality. Today, the Gibson County Chapter helps assist annually 20 to 30 families with diaster assistance, provides beverages to first responders, teachers over 500 people how to save a life, and works to generate the most pints of blood in the River Valley Blood Region.
We invite you to read more about your services and how you can become a dedicated volunteers like those who set forth a great service for Gibson County, by creating the areas chapter. If a group of people could help create so much then, think about what we could accomplish today with your help.
